Makirama by Magali

Sometimes, art doesn’t belong on a wall — it belongs among the leaves. 🌿

This sculptural mask was born from that thought. I wanted to create something that would live in the garden, slowly blending with nature, changing with the light, and even with the seasons.

Using plaster and simple hand tools, I shaped the face by instinct — not from a plan, but from feeling. The result was this calm, almost ancient presence. It feels like a guardian of the garden, quietly watching over everything around it.

When I placed it outside, surrounded by green, it suddenly came alive.
The sun hits the curves differently throughout the day. Leaves move across its face with the wind. It feels as if nature decided to collaborate in finishing the artwork.

That’s what I love about creating art for outdoor spaces — it’s never really finished. The weather, the plants, the passing of time… they all leave their mark.

This mask is a reminder that art and life grow together, and that imperfection can be powerful when embraced.

The process

Material: plaster and natural texture

Handmade in Marbella

Finished with a matte white coating to reflect light softly

Placed in the garden as a sculptural element that merges with nature

I wanted the piece to have presence, but also humility — as if it’s part of the environment rather than dominating it.

Culinary Artistry Meets Visual Mastery

As a passionate foodie, Magali elevates these exclusive encounters by transforming the plate into a canvas. Her artful, bite-sized culinary creations—vibrant, meticulously crafted, and bursting with flavor—are as much a masterpiece as the paintings that adorn her atelier. The video showcases these edible works of art, from delicately arranged appetizers to visually stunning morsels, each designed to delight the palate and complement the sensory journey of her artwork. This fusion of art and cuisine is a hallmark of Magali’s vision, reserved only for those fortunate enough to secure a private visit.

A living artwork

Just like the plants that grow around it, the sculpture evolves.
Sometimes moss creeps in; sometimes sunlight gives it a golden hue.
It changes every day — and that’s exactly what makes it alive.

For me, that’s the essence of Makirama: creating with respect for nature, beauty, and time.
